The Star of David is also known as the Shield of David. If you don鈥檛 know who it makes reference to, he is the David that defeated the giant Goliath with a simple stone鈥檚 throw. Some say that he wore this symbol on his shield when he went to battle.
There have been lots of disputes about how this symbol came to represent all Judaic believers. Some evidence has been swimwear 2010 found dating back to the 3rd century, but there is nothing substantial. The first mention of this symbol is in a text written by Judah Hadassi, in the 12th century.
