Virgin looks at Asia with hope

NEW DELHI - Virgin Atlantic Airways is looking at Asia with new hope as it has reinstated all its frequencies to Hong Kong.

Head Asia Pacific, MacKenzie Grant told Travel Weekly, “Traffic to Hong Kong is back to its regular frequencies and is doing well.

“What we did learn from the crisis of 9/11 was to react fast.â€

When the government of India gave Virgin an extra flight from February to June, it promptly accepted it and now says the sector has performed well despite tough times in the region.

General manager India Andrew Fyfe said Virgin still hopes to get additional frequencies into India that “will enable us to tap the business market that expects a carrier to fly dailies.â€

Virgin was promised additional frequencies into India when it started three years ago, but the green signal has yet to come.
